if i don't know the solution though, and I'm certain its a hard problem, AI isn't very helpful. The traditional methods like programming manually, running the program, debugging it, are the best use of time

In my experience, if u describe anything in low enough detail to a model, it will work. A proof for this is: if you provide it the exact solution in code, all frontier models can echo it back to you If I already know the exact solution (almost always the case in product level

Don't understand me wrong. Agents are great. I still use them almost all the time. If a specific thing doesn't work out I just try to bail out earlier.
