This was the single biggest recommendation we offered when I testified last year.

🚨Big news from the OCC on #Stablecoin 🚨. This new interpretive letter rescinds the previous I.L. 1179 which effectively blocked bank participation in stablecoins by requiring formal approval.

While USDF is no longer driving this progress, I'm excited about what this means for banks' ability to adopt blockchain technology.

Hill's commitment to transparency signals a new approach at the FDIC and is an important step toward changing this approach. An open and transparent relationship between banks and their regulators is critical to creating clarity that can facilitate responsible innovation.

It won't come as a surprise that @USDFConsortium members were the recipients of some of these letters, many of which were designed to discourage bank efforts on tokenization.

📄Today's document release and comments by FDIC Acting Chair Hill are a breath of fresh air, signaling a new approach to tokenization at @FDICgov.
