Congratulations to the Riley County Chess Team for their 3rd place finish in Lawrence today. Individually Sam Frese got 21st place, Dawson Yoder 18th place, and Brett Laurie 8th place. Way to Falcons!

RCHS FFA and Key Club sponsored the annual Barn Dance Friday evening in the Ag shop. Students had a great time dancing and socializing. Go Falcons!

The Riley County FFA Meats Judging team took 3rd place out of 19 teams. Hunter Sherman placed 5th, Easton Blair placed 17th, Karodie Wendland placed 19th, Trista Warnken placed 25th and Sierra McCabria placed 46th. Great job Falcons!

Joe Geisler owner of Geisler Electric in Manhattan, Kansas came and talked to the electrical and security systems class about being an electrician. He also gave a hands on demonstration with a wireless light switch.

Riley County FFA members participated in the Grass and Grain Farm Show. Members helped with vendor booths and attended leadership sessions. The FFA Chapter also won $150 for the Chapter in the daily drawing for all attending FFA Chapters from the Grass and Grain newspaper.

The RC Chess Team traveled to Topeka yesterday to compete in the Jay Shideler Chess Tournament. Brett Laurie went 4-1-1 (4.5 points) and finished in 4th place. and Simon Baumann went 3-3 (3 points) and finished in 18th place. Way to go Falcons!

Congratulations to the RCHS Student of the Month for October, Emma Anderes. Emma, 11th Grade, has a cumulative GPA of 4.0 and is currently a member of Key Club, SADD, FCA, FCCLA, Pep Club, and NHS. She is a member of the volleyball, basketball, and softball team. Go Falcons!
