My bad. It went back and forth in my mind.
@UGHDROP Aerith was a 16yo in love of a 20+yo military man. Zack was a 20+yo "in love" (¿?) of a 16yo slum girl. And nobody has an issue with that AT ALL. Don't get me wrong, storywise, I take ZA canon in CC, even in DD. But OG, RM and RB have clearly stated that ZA is done.

That was actually me. I thought I would take a really long ass post to question. Thanks for the response. I wanna hear from others who read the book what they think about this "cure" and how it plays in the narrative so far and in the LSS.
To answer the actual question: yes. Love, affection, getting the person who open themselves up to another so that memories can help them remember themselves is apparently the cure. It’s mentioned that someone in the science department theorized it, but Hojo dismisses it.

For CA to work, FFVII story would need to show that Zack has given up on Aerith, Aerith no longer loves Zack, Tifa has given up on Cloud, Cloud no longer loves Tifa & Cloud is in love w Aerith, but none of this is ever happened/stated in the game, movie, Nojima's Novels & Ultis.
