I was impacted by the recent layoffs at Epic. It’s been a fun ride. I've been so lucky to be part of such amazing team. It’s a tough moment across the industry, and it’s hard seeing so many talented people affected. Grateful for these 7 years, and looking forward to what’s next❤️‍🩹

After almost 8 years, my time at Epic Games has come to an unexpected end. It’s hard to put into words what an incredible journey it has been, but I’ll try in this 🧵

Unfortunately me and my team were hit by the Epic layoffs. Still in shock at depth and speed it's happened at. I've loved the 5+ yrs here but I'm also deeply looking forward to taking a bit of a break and then finding something new and exciting to work on. Onwards and upwards!

Sadly I was impacted by todays layoffs at Epic. Still processing as I just found out like 20 minutes ago. Probably going to jump straight into the job hunt... if anybody has any leads for Environment Art roles I would greatly appreciate it.

i'll continue to do my best to keep making the best game for you, and i'm confident that my peers feel the same, but please be patient with us as we navigate this tough time and do our best in spite of these truly gut-wrenching losses.

what comes next is very hard and painful. our teams will have to pick up the pieces and try to keep moving forward but we cannot even fully understand what kind of impacts this will have on the game for the rest of the year and likely beyond.

i appreciate the outcry of support and empathy that I've seen from the community today, and I just ask that you please show as much love as you can offer to those that were impacted. none of them deserve this and it's not at all reflective of their work or their impact.

hey. end of day and I've had some time to process. it's been a brutal day at epic today, and I'm absolutely devastated by the loss of some of the most insanely bright and talented people I've ever had the honor to work with or even just around.

I was laid off today. I spent the last 2 years as the only UI Engineer on Festival, implementing new features like Local Multi-player, Festival Menu, Calibration, and new game modes. I dove into focus and input issues, often helping other teams with their issues as well.

I was impacted by today’s layoffs at Epic. Truly came out of nowhere for me. Right before my birthday, too. I really liked Epic. Really liked the teams. Really liked what we were doing in music. So it’s all a shock. Time to breathe for a minute. Then onward and upward.

I’m a part of the layoffs today at Epic, closing out four years working on Fortnite. It’s been the privilege of my early career being a part of this team. I’m proud of what we built, and grateful for every person I got to build it with. Fortnite will always be special to me.

Hey y'all... Ya so I got laid off too from Fortnite Festival. All I've ever wanted to do was make cool games for people that help them feel a little bit better or happier in their day... It's so sad that it's this hard to do just that.

My role at Epic Games is at risk. The past 5 and a half years as social media manager from Mediatonic to Epic, Fall Guys to LEGO Fortnite to Fortnite and everything in between, has been a wild ride. And how mega to be able to say my last hoorah was working on Game of Thrones!!
