I just posted a new ski blog looking back at this winter. What a season it was in the east! The cold hung around and snow was plentiful (in some areas). Conditions were awesome more often than not. Can't wait for next season!!! . Link:

Tomorrow is the last day of July. We have survived the worst month of the year. We’re a month out from meteorological fall. 6-8 weeks out from the avg. first frost and two months away from peak foliage. Tending in the right direction, finally.

Yawgoo Valley is the best ski area in Rhode Island and I think they should run with this messaging. (It’s also the only ski area in Rhode Island).

I found this tree laying in a flower bed, still in its plastic pot, with no foliage. It was a twig when I planted it.

Went on an interesting hike today at the New Land Trust in Clinton County, NY. I’d never been there before. The place has an interesting history. Not much in the way of views, but the forest was pretty. Deer flies were terrible. Place is supposed to be great for XC skiing

There's nothing better than a beautiful -20 F morning with a wind chill in the -30s. The air takes your breath away the first time you step outside. I love it.
I hope there are many days where the temperature dips below zero next winter. The last couple of winters have been lacking. The colder, the better. Thanks for coming to my Lincoln talk.
