Hard to put this into words. I first met him when I was 15 at the Academy. He gave me my nickname.
We were teammates for more than a decade, riding all the highs and lows together.
Through it all he was someone you could always count on, someone who loved his family...
Devastated, we have lost a legend. Rod Marsh was a great player, a great coach and one of the best people I have ever met. My thoughts are with Ros, Paul, Dan and Jamie.
If Roy shook your hand you had his word, that’s the sort of bloke he was and that's why I always wanted him on my team. An extraordinary player and even better human being. Can’t believe he’s gone. Thoughts are with his family at this time.
Congrats
@msdhoni
on a brilliant international career. I loved and enjoyed every contest we had as players and now I still have to find ways to stop you winning games against the
@DelhiCapitals
. Look forward to saying it in person in a few weeks time.
Loved the fight and determination of India all day today. Starting with Pant and Pujara, and then for Vihari and Ashwin to withstand Australia and look largely in control for most of the day was very impressive. Can't wait for Brisbane now.
#AUSvIND
Got plenty of questions the other day after calling the Flintoff over the best I'd faced.
This from
@shoaib100mph
was the fastest spell I'd ever faced and trust me Justin wasn't backing up too far at the other end.
Thanks all
@DelhiCapitals
fans for your amazing support. Disappointing way for us to finish the season but it was such a thrill to be a part of as always. Bigger and better next year.
...someone who would be there for you when you needed him and always put his mates first.
The greatest bowler I ever played with or against.
RIP King. My thoughts are with Keith, Bridgette, Jason, Brooke, Jackson and Summer.
So much for the prediction of India scoring under 200, this pitch hasn't deteriorated anywhere near what I was expecting. Like the way Rishabh Pant's playing, it's the perfect approach to take in these conditions. And now it's game on
#AUSvIND
Brilliant start last night for us. Thrilled for
@PrithviShaw
and his innings, as well as
@SDhawan25
picking up where he left off last season. A great base to build from.
#IPL2021
Everyone's picking teams of the decade so I thought I'd join in the fun. This would be my Test team of the 2010's:
David Warner
Alastair Cook
Kane Williamson
Steve Smith
Virat Kohli (c)
Kumar Sangakkarra (wk)
Ben Stokes
Dale Steyn
Nathan Lyon
Stuart Broad
James Anderson
Given we've all got a bit of time on our hands as we stay at home, thought I'd go through what I've kept from my career and share some of it with everyone on a regular basis - this is the bat I used in the 2003 World Cup final.
Sometimes my passion for my team gets the better of me! Always hard to beat MI, tough conditions for batting but Shreyas and Ashwin did exactly what we needed them to do. Great win
@delhicapitals
Unfortunate that Shreyas will miss the tournament, but looking forward to seeing
@RishabhPant17
grab his opportunity. It's well deserved for his recent performances and he's coming in with a lot of confidence. I'm convinced captaincy will make him an even better player.
Great to have these two back together. Strong team performance and happy to restart things with a win after our bowlers did a great job.
@DelhiCapitals
How great is it to have
@sachin_rt
taking part in the Bushfire Cricket Bash and giving up his time to come out for the cause. Picked the right team to coach too!
Looking forward to the IPL auction tonight with
@delhicapitals
and filling out our squad for the season. Hope moneybags
@bazmccullum
doesn't outbid me again though.
India have been superb over the last few days, a dominant performance. Looking for Australia to rebound in the third Test, especially with their approach when batting. I think it's been too tentative so far.
#AUSvIND
Very impressed with Will Pucovski's innings today. To look the part at Test level on debut is a promising sign and rapt for him to break through after the setbacks he's had along the way.
#AUSvIND
I had my little mate JL looking after me and I'm back here shiny and new this morning. Ready for a good day of Test cricket after missing the best part of yesterday.
"I mentioned to JL who was commentating with me that I'd had these pains in my chest ... 10 or 15 minutes later I was in the hospital getting the best treatment I possibly could."

Thanks to everyone at
@DelhiCapitals
and the
@IPL
for getting the tournament away under the circumstances. Wasn't to be this year but it was another step forward for us and a fantastic group to be around. Back to the drawing board and preparing to go one step further next year.
Wasim Akram and Curtly Ambrose were easily the best fast bowlers I've ever faced. Shoaib Akhtar clearly the quickest but Harbhajan Singh got me out more than anybody

This is my favourite piece of memorabilia gifted to me by Rianna and Cricket Australia when I retired. A brand new cap on the left and my pride and joy on the right, looking a bit worse for wear after about 140odd tests.
In the back half of my career I marked the hundreds I made on the handle of my bats under the grip.
This is the bat I used when I made 156 against England at Manchester in the 2005 Ashes. It's probably the innings I'm most proud of from my whole career.
An awesome day today catching up with old mates and getting back out there for a good cause.

Can't wait to commentate alongside this man for the first time, and excited to be back at a ground with fans for the first time in 10 months. Predicting 2-1 Australia.
#AUSvIND
Thrilled for the boys to make it through to
@delhicapitals
first IPL final, it's a great reward for all the hard work they've put in since we got here and gelled together as a group. One more step to go.
When I captained my first Test the boys signed this shirt and left messages. I remember this Test most for the brilliant batting from
@damienmartyn
and
@darren_lehmann
in what were very tough conditions.
Heartbroken to hear of Dean Jones' passing. He was someone I looked up to and emulated growing up, and then I was lucky to become close friends with him later on.
He was always great fun to be around and I loved the time I spent with him talking cricket and golf. RIP mate.
Five international hundreds with this baby, four of them against South Africa. The 120 and 143* were made in my 100th Test at the SCG.
And the 164 was made in the famous 434 v 438 ODI at the Wanderers. Used it for as long as I could and as you can see it's pretty worn out.
Congrats on a brilliant career
@ShaneRWatson33
. Loved every minute of playing alongside you, you were a brilliant team mate and someone I love calling a close friend. I think one of the more underrated players Australia has had. Enjoy retirement.
Very happy with how things panned out for us
@delhicapitals
tonight, rounded out our squad strongly in all areas. Can't wait to get the group together and underway.
Rapt for Hobart and everyone in Tasmania that we get an Ashes Test. Can't wait to get back to my home state next month for what should be a great week and hopefully a quality game.
Extremely saddened by the news of the tragic passing of Rudi Koertzen. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends. He was a great umpire and a better person. I always enjoyed sharing the field with him.
Well played Daniel Sams, great to see all the hard work you've been doing on your batting the last few months paying off now. Outstanding tonight.
#BBL10
Great team effort last night, happy with how everyone stepped up against such a quality team. Important to keep this going against Sunrisers
@DelhiCapitals
Really excited for the
#IPLAuction
tonight. We'll look at two batters, potentially an all rounder and two fast bowlers. We've got a strong contingent of Indian players already so our main goal is to get the best players available.
@DelhiCapitals
My first Test ton and an Ashes one, 23 years ago to the day. Being on 99 that day was the most nervous I I think I ever was, but thankfully I had Matthew Elliott at the other end to help guide me through as he went on to a magnificent 199.
Can't believe it's been 21 years since the 99 World Cup final, the highlight of my career to that point.
It finished with me on
@TomMoodyCricket
's shoulders in the middle of Lord's singing the team song, an amazing experience.
Rapt to secure a top-two spot with the win against RCB. Now onto preparing for MI on Thursday. I know the boys are looking forward to it.
@delhicapitals
Really excited to finally launch our new business Ponting Wines. It's been an honour for Rianna and I to work with one of Australia's best wine makers, Ben Riggs.
We're incredibly proud of the range, use code PONTING15 for a special 15% launch discount:
Held onto this from my 100th Test thanks to Shaun Pollock, who was one of the all-time great bowlers, competitors and people I ever played against. I remember being really nervous beforehand with a heap of family and friends at the game, but thankfully it all turned out well.
Counting down the days until we start our season on Sunday. The boys have been outstanding with their training and preparation and competition for spots in the starting eleven is certainly hot. Exactly what you want as a coach.
@delhicapitals
These are the actual numbers from the Adelaide Oval scoreboard gifted to me the year after I made my then top score of 242. Very fortunate to have a piece of the iconic scoreboard taking pride of place at home.
Over the moon with tonight's win and especially the work of all the bowlers to drag it back - congrats on your debut
@TusharD_96
. The
@sdhawan25
and
@shreyasiyer15
partnership was just as important after our start in giving us enough to bowl at.
@DelhiCapitals
He's come a long way since I presented him his baggy green in South Africa! Got no doubt
@patcummins30
is ready to be Test captain and is suited to the job. Having Smith alongside him as vice captain will be an invaluable help.

Some time ago now our beautiful dog Cleo passed away. It’s been a very sad and difficult time for our family, she was the best little companion and we miss her everyday. Today we’re ready to bring joy back to our house and we’re very excited to welcome Eloise.
