Good morning, friends. Today, I've happily joined Bluesky. @rickkeller.bsky.social. I'll no longer post content here. I'm debating whether to delete this X account. Since I'm fond of my dear Coco thread, I'll leave this account open for now. See you on Bluesky!

Can the Democratic party duplicate that magic to rescue us from Trumpism? Is there a similar Governor from a southern red state who can swoop in? I hope so. Because this current crop of candidates is not cutting it. (6/6)

Tipper was immediately behind him; she approached me, flashed a big smile, and shaked my hand. Weeks later, I enthusiastically cast my 1st presidential vote for Clinton. He understood what was going on in America. He connected. He listened. He was the real deal. (5/6)

There was no tape or partition. Clinton was literally intermingling within the the crowd. Secret Service was swarming. By luck, he turned in my direction, made contact with my eyes, reached out, and we briefly locked palms. (4/6)

Clinton gave a rousing & inspiring speech at the Arneson River Theatre. Afterwards, he and his entourage crossed the bridge to the other side to greet the well-wishers. I was one of them. I was proud to be there. (3/6)

I liked Clinton. I felt he was a genuine character who connected with poor Americans (like myself then). In Aug β92, Clinton-Gore made a memorable campaign stop in SAT. He (sans HRC), Al Gore, Tipper, Anne Richards, and Lloyd Bentsen floated on a barge down the River Walk. (2/6)

𧡠In the summer β92, in my early twenties (showing my age), I spent my weekends in the sweltering Texas heat knocking on doors to GOTV for Gov. Bill Clinton. I felt compelled to do my part to rescue the country from Reagan-Bush. (1/6)

βThe thing that kills a country is when people get up every day and they donβt think tomorrow is going to be any better, when they think that nothing is going to change, when they think nobody cares about them.β β Gov. Bill Clinton, July 1992 (Clinton-Gore bus tour)

Ms. Psaki @jrpsaki, not a good look for you. Jen Psaki Says Democrats Messed Up By 'Lifting Up' Never Trump Republicans: 'Not the Winning Coalition'

Jen Psaki pointed to Democrats embracing anti-Trump Republicans as part of the reason Kamala Harris came up short this week against Donald Trump.

In the wake of this weekβs shocking debacle, re-upping this.
My five tenets of #damagecontrol: π Rule #1: With full TRANSPARENCY, acknowledge there is a problem(s), and identify and define it. π Rule #2: Take immediate FULL responsibility. π Rule #3: Do NOT double-down, evade, or obfuscate.
