Now that we see YJ-20 clearly and know its name, one is reminded of these again. IYKYK

Never mind, pic1 should be the new airborne IFV. Alongside the new airborne APC, it looks more obvious. Fairly well equipped in technology.

Hmm seems like there is a different vehicle that is an IFV (pic1) although still fairly well equipped with APS and sensors, while the other one is less clear; enhanced IFV, recce IFV, direct fire support (pic2-3)?. The new tank (pic4) has nice longitudinal symmetry.

Pic1 alternatively could be the airborne IFV that we've had some hints of. .

Interestingly I cannot see an obvious gunner's sight for either the new tank or new IFV (the optic mount with the RWS is likely a CITV). I doubt they would go without a gunner's sight, so probably just haven't been installed on the vehicles yet (like RWS and coaxial guns etc).

. but the plentiful APS cartridges with 360 degree radar and optical sensors and slanted turret and barrel covers certainly lend itself to the whole "future AFV" look that one would expect.

The described performance itself is not unreasonable, but I would not use CCTV as a categorical confirmation of these sort of metrics. Sometimes numbers are recycled from public sources, sometimes they don't use terms correctly. IMO the CCTV clip doesn't really change anything.

China's CCTV channel 4 recent stated:."The J20 has high stealth, high situational awareness, and high maneuverability. With a supersonic cruise speed of 1.8 Mach, it can quickly reach combat areas and gain an advantage in beyond-visual-range air combat, enabling it to detect and

These barges are lategame assets, and may benefit with a more pointed name ("lategame barge" instead of "landing barge"), so it automatically registers their role. Too many (not Alex) continue to think these may be used without air+sea control and extensive preparatory strikes.

Nice article describing a natural progression of networked aerial warfare in context of modern tech and threats. This sure does remind one of the major conops rumoured for certain new tailless aircraft that began flying in late 2024.

As an academic exercise, one can ponder if it will take more or less time for PLAN to reach full competency operating CV-18 from its commissioning (?H2 2025), versus time taken to reach full competency operating STOBAR carriers from Sept 2012 when Liaoning was commissioned.

Things to ponder for PL-16:.- PL-15, as capable as it is, is getting old (10 years since induction), and PLA wouldn't have rested on it laurels.- rumours PL-16 is inducted for a few years now.- 6x PL-16 IWB capacity, increased from 4x PL-15, can occur alongside performance uplift.

This isn't too surprising -- a carrierborne aircraft usually won't reach LRIP without =most dev/test work done, including carrier trials. At this point it's not waiting for carrier trials to "commence" and more waiting for PLAN to dignify us with footage to confirm rumours.

We know PLA have been working on CCA/A2A UCAVs quietly behind the scenes (and no, FH-97/97A are just a tiny sliver of industry effort that were open to display at Zhuhai, but were never confirmed as PLA related), so won't be a huge surprise if a proper CCA parade presence occurs.

GE from June shows a UAV contingent may be part of the Victory Day parade in Sept (like 2019 parade). We see GJ-11 pattern (boxed red), and a ?MALE airframe (black). Multiple new airframes that may be CCA in nature (blue) also seen. Display trucks are 12.5m long, for scale.

Video on J-15T production, featuring multiple background J-35s (+ 35As?) in production essentially (and deliberately) unacknowledged by host and interviewees. Sort of wild, as even now we don't have equivalent footage of J-20 production.

Says a lot, that in this formation, it is a J-16D leading 2x J-20 and 2x J-35A. As important as 5th gen is, high end 4.5th gen dedicated EW is arguably even more premium. Via by78
