I'd rather pay him what we're paying him than all of the dead weight we have on the back-end of the roster. Nearly half our team are rotation players that will hardly be impactful for the Lakers this upcoming season. I'll take that chance. And I'll also bet he'll play more than.
@RichStapless It did cost to get Smart though. He’s not a minimum deal and he’s also not been healthy for a long time.

The address needs the Lakers have and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg. The Lakers didn’t have much free money to spend even after DFS opted out. And they used the funds they have on low risk moves that have potentially high, tangible benefits. That’s how you address needs,.

DFS got 14 million annually and we replaced him with a starting big, a POA and youth for 20 million combine with all our assets still at play. Home run imo.
