10/12 On March 7th my Illuvium world and the PFP world are set to collide. Illuvium is releasing their PFP project called Illuvium: Beyond and I could not be more excited. For the first time, we have a project that chose to build first and profit later.

8/12 I built out a website https://t.co/OdVLmx4Znp and made a goal to post at least 3x a week. With well over 100 articles at this point, I am well versed on Illuvium to say the least. With all this research, I have yet to find the red flags that I saw with 2021 PFP projects.

7/12 The Illuvium team provided daily updates and brought a sense of legitimacy to the space. I quickly sold my PFP NFTs of 2021 and began to focus solely on Illuvium. After a year plus of searching, I had finally found the adult in the room and I began to cover their progress.

6/12 Once again, I didn’t sell the top. I believed in what Pixel Vault was building. As time went on, there was a lack of transparency and progress was slow. For a while I put up with it. Then I found @illuviumio. Illuvium was everything I was hoping Pixel Vault would be.

5/12 I then minted a @punkscomic from @pixelvault_. They were promising a AAA game and seemed to have a decent following. The comic took a month to mint out, but like most projects at that time it took off over the summer. I paid .2 eth at mint. At the peak it was over 10 eth.

4/12 The @BoredApeYC mint began in April 2021. It lasted a few days and I chose not to mint one as I thought it was a copycat of @cryptopunksnfts and would never last. Fresh off the NBA Top Shot disaster, I had little faith. Boy was I wrong. The wave of speculators were here.

3/12 I started with @NBATopShot in January 2021. My small account grew from about $500 to over $20,000 in two months. It subsequently plummeted in March of 2021 and I basically broke even. Top Shot just couldn’t figure out supply and demand. Many people then moved on to @opensea.

2/12 2021 was a wild time. Peak bull market and stimulus checks being handed out left and right. PFP projects took off. Every mint in Spring 2021 was selling out immediately. Illuvium could’ve cashed in, but they chose not to. They were thinking long term.

When the penny drops on PVP, Illuvium’s Esport footprint is going to be huge. IZ Stadiums are a massive marketing opportunity for the Crypto exchanges who remain. The Super Bowl of Web 3 could happen in those 5 stadiums.
