Chaplains in the @australianarmy are #positionedtoserve in units to serve all soldiers & their loved ones. I am privileged in @3rdbrigade to serve those chaplains. Spending time with them, learning from them & encouraging them is such a humbling blessing.

A focus on “milk & honey” means we miss the truth that we are blessed, by God, with all we have. In Lent, I wonder what it looks like to give graciously with our “first fruits” - to care for those without & lift up those who serve. Deuteronomy 26:1-11 #creativefaithsunday

In times of stress, as humans, feeling alone is devastating - we crave a calming presence. Chaplains are #positionedtoserve @DefenceAust sailors, soldiers & aviators as a presence that helps stave off the eroding effect from the #natureofwar. #forcemultiplierfriday

After two years I handed over Command of the 3rd Brigade to Brigadier Ben McLennan this morning, he is an outstanding leader and I have no doubt the Brigade will thrive with him at the helm. Good luck and good soldiering to the Brigade for the future.

Now’s the time @DefenceAust sailors, soldiers & aviators take a breath and reflect. This can be stressful due to emotional fatigue. People need someone to hear them, to know that there is hope & that they have worth. Here chaplains are #positionedtoserve #forcemultiplierfriday

This week @AustralianArmy Chaplains celebrate 111 years of being #positionedtoserve soldiers - honouring the dead, bringing hope, caring for the sick & supporting all. The @3BrigadeTSV chaplaincy team hosted religious leaders from the region. #forcemultiplierfriday

I get asked what keeps me going as a chaplain in the @AustralianArmy & serving in @3BrigadeTSV. This week has been spent on retreat providing my needed opportunity to reflect. Affirmed for me was my vision as a chaplain: Journeying with people in faith. #forcemultiplierfriday

My hobbies & my family’s open me up to communities that others think are weird & strange. I have experienced a deep sense of community & grace within them. This morning was that! Meeting @BlackStarBray & friend, incredibly friendly & happy to photo with this #dungeonpadre

Our emotions are important, they are central to us as human beings. I often hear people talk about controlling emotions, which usually means repressing or denying them. This stops you from being truly human. Discipline, self mastery, comes from reflection & acceptance.
