Psion gave so much to the early #ZXSpectrum years. Any memories to the half dozen or so people that will see this? 😁

Morning all. Ghosts Revenge is the latest game being added to my book on the greatest 16K #ZXSpectrum games ever. There are no prizes for guessing what it's a clone of. 😁 A worthy enough addition? I think so. Not many games left to cover now... #retrogames

Slippery Sid. The first 'snake' game I ever played. Not a bad little 16K #ZXSpectrum game. Anyone else remember this one from the early years? Guide Sid around the garden, devour the frogs and avoid the walls at all costs. #RetroGame

The cassette sleeve for Spectipede on the #ZXSpectrum was slightly bonkers. It was well worth £1.99 and is my favourite Centipede game on the Speccy. It ran on a 16K machine too. Featuring in my book on the subject, along with a chat with the author. #RetroGame

The animation on the sea creatures was a sight to behold in '83. Almost time to dive into the weekend. #RetroGame

Cannon Fodder arrived on the #Amiga in 1993. Sensible Software created a cartoonish, fun, arcade strategy game that made excellent use of the mouse as a controller. Did Stu, Jools and Jops make it through every campaign? #RetroGame

The 'grey screen of death' on the #ZXSpectrum in the 80s... R Tape loading error, 0:1 was the bane of our lives, but it also instilled resilience in us users. Adjust the volume/tone on the cassette deck, and try again... We learned patience the hard way 😃

Rainbird pulled off something miraculous with the #ZXSpectrum version of Carrier Command in 1989. The blend of strategy, 3D action and tension was ported to 8bits with aplomb. A stunning game. Immersive, atmospheric and exciting. #RetroGame

How cool was Saboteur? Durell gave us a stealth/action mission in 1985 on our favourite #8bit machines I think of it as Sam Fishers first mission Did you steal the disk and escape in the 'copter? Running in the gloom, taking out guards and avoid the sentry dogs #zxspectrum

So, engagement has dropped to practically nothing. Why does X have to be so crappy for no reason?

Space Harrier (full hydraulic) is one of my favourite #arcade rail-shooters ever. Released in 1985 by SEGA, it featured impressive 3D landscapes, large scale sprites, superb music and weird foes to deal with. Jaw dropping at the time. 'Welcome to the fantasy zone'

1990 saw the release of one of the greatest games of all time. Speedball 2 remains supremely playable today. Slick, fast and fun, with superb power ups and player building. It's in the upper echelons of #Amiga gaming in my opinion #retrogaming and a side of ice cream, ice cream

Robocop 3 hit the #Amiga in '92, a year before the film appeared. An atmospheric, 3D game with bags of atmosphere and brilliant music. The driving and shooting sections worked well, but the jetpack level was too jittery. Nice cutscenes wrapped the story Good game 👍 #RetroGame

My book on the greatest 16K #ZXSpectrum games is coming along. I'm hoping for another interview with a dev before putting it all together. Fingers crossed 🤞 Further game suggestions welcome! #RetroGame

Flashback arrived on the #Amiga in 1992. A lush arcade adventure by Delphine software that was atmospheric and immersive Guide Conrad around the planet Titan, solving puzzles and unravelling the story. Superb animation and detailed environments made it unmissable. #RetroGame

Agony. A visual and audible treat for Amiga gamers. Like many Psygnosis titles, it featured lavish environments, oddball enemies and a lovely soundtrack. Not quite up to Uridium, SWIV, Hybris or Apidya levels, but a worthy title Who grabbed this one in 1992? #Amiga
