as if there aren't already enough videos critiquing this game. I tried to add something new to the conversation at least. https://t.co/ibrRU93zS2

there's a lot of things I dislike about F: NV but it's one of the few things to make that association. obviously not everyone who uses it is doing so with that intent, but if you see it in the wild, it's worth doing a double take

I find it interesting that fallout new vegas is a game that nearly everyone on the internet has played at some point yet the word "degenerate" is still very prevalent online. that game is extremely unsubtle about that word being used by authoritarians to justify atrocities

this kind of thing is literally a mainstay in conservative moral panic. OP is either a disingenuous shithead or actually lives under a rock

I saw this post, scrolled a little bit more, only to find this one shortly after. maybe you should try paying any slight modicum of attention to your surroundings
I think that a huge factor as to why people complain so much about t4t puppygirls and barely ever about any of those gay dudes with the leather dog masks who do a lot of the same shit is because of transmisogyny

Not to mention if you properly equip the mimic tear it can basically kill bosses on its own with zero input from the player. The double standards around DS1 are really frustrating, I wish people would just admit they don't enjoy it without trying to construct fallacious arguments

I love how when DS1 lets you optionally break the game it's "too easy" but when elden ring lets you pick up reduvia and spirit ashes right at the start it's just "dynamic difficulty". This fanbase doesn't know what it wants

I understand wanting to feel hope for something good but you're honestly an idiot if you keep falling for the HL3 hype train. it's never happening

my prediction: the big game valve is getting ready to announce is just going to be the official release date for deadlock. there will be no mention of half-life whatsoever

for real though, the real reason why half-life 3 will never come out is because it has monumental levels of unrealistic hype that valve knows is impossible to live up to. we'll probably get another spin off game like alyx but half-life 3 itself will never exist for this reason

half-life 3 is never coming out, I don't care how much "evidence" there is. I'm all in on nothing ever happens
Hereās new information about the Half Life 3 rumor: ā¢Insider GabeFollower says according to their info Valve is aiming to announce HL3 this year. ā¢Insider Gamingās Mike Straw says there will be another big Valve announcement soon and it wonāt be at The Game Awards. ā¢Tom

I could delete this app and quit using the site and I'd for sure be better off but the knowledge of how the average person thinks can't be erased. I am permanently more misanthropic than I was before and that can't be fixed

I really miss the time before I had an account here and wasn't permanently scarred by brainworms contracted from exposure to incalculable vitriol and hatred directed specifically at people like me

to me at least, immersion arises from internal consistency, not realism. in other words, the work needs to obey a set of coherent rules, however unrealistic these rules may be (magic, deities, etc). there's a subtle but distinct difference between the two

I'm not inherently opposed to pursuing visual realism as a style, but it needs to benefit the work in some tangible way. in RDR's case it seems like a generic open world affair so I think you'd be hard pressed to make any compelling case for it

RDR is a technical marvel but it's a shallow and forgettable video game that will become dated in the coming years once graphics inevitably become more realistic. therefore, it's shortsighted to pour so many resources into emulating reality from a visual perspective

a small visual spectacle that you look at once and go "huh, that's kinda neat" then forget about because it has zero impact on how you actually engage with the game. I think this stuff being praised is a result of conflating realism with immersion, which is a mistake
Fun little detail from Red Dead Redemption 2 #4 You can create whirlpools in water if you spin in circles

like, the idea of samus just glaring at him silently every time he says something idiotic is genuinely pretty funny

I think I'd have really liked this character if they just toned down the patronizing handholding that he does. if he was just a quippy idiot that was used sparingly and was somewhat self-aware I'd find it praiseworthy
