Emily volunteers with her children's schools, is a grant recipient of the Land-to-School project, and works with @kelly_vodden, partnering with Three Rivers Mi'kmaq Band as they seek pathways to address their #community food needs.

NL school food programs can look to the #ocean to build a #local food #economy that nourishes the next generation and is sustainable. Emily also sees the educational value of gifting school children with the #knowledge of #healthy and #sustainable eating

She is increasing awareness of where our food comes from, its sustainability, and nutritional quality we gain from healthy, local, place-based foods. Food is #cultural; a gathering point for conversation and reflection; something that connects each of us to our place and others.
