We are launching a campaign for the City to fund 2,000 new shelter beds in the upcoming budget. We demand action on ending our street sleeping crisis. Email the Mayor and Supervisors to make your voice heard!

We have created a unique opportunity for residents to influence public policy in San Francisco. We are independent, non-ideological, and non-partisan, and we are guided by data and best practices.

Everyone is in agreement—the city is failing drug users and our residents by not prioritizing and moving in unison on the drug crisis. Here are some thoughts that illustrate how deeply we all feel about this:

Half of those unhoused in SF suffer from substance use disorder. 1997's Prop T required SF to provide treatment. 20+ years later, we still only have 30 beds. We’re organizing to demand better. Join us:

“The city should treat homelessness like a natural disaster,” said Nagel (co-founder of RescueSF) ... If a natural disaster left thousands of residents homeless, the city would act quickly to move people off the streets.”

The passage of APA by @sfbos means that SF – for the first time – will have a plan for providing sufficient shelter and housing to address our street sleeping crisis. Next steps are to review the plan in December and make sure it’s funded!

This is a big deal! San Francisco is now poised to adopt a law requiring the City to operate a sufficient number of shelters and permanent supportive housing units to allow every unsheltered person in San Francisco to be offered a place to sleep at night. https://t.co/oa7lIKAKIY
