I recently gave a zoom talk about abortion, self managed abortion & full spectrum repro health. Some anti’s made it in the zoom & tried to shame & intimidate in the chat. Just hear to say this work won’t stop & I’m proud to provide this care!.

PSA: inexpensive non-digital pregnancy tests are very very accurate & same ones we use in medical settings. There is no clinical reason to buy digital tests & in fact anecdotally several colleagues & myself have seen false positives w digital clear blue tests.

Medication abortion pills, mifepristone and misoprostol, do NOT have a "weight limit." They are safe and EFFECTIVE at any weight. Let’s give people accurate information so they can make informed decisions for their lives.

I love being a family med doc providing prenatal care and abortion care. Emphasis on the word care. People need care in a lot of life circumstances & I’m lucky I can help facilitate the care that people want.

3/ So when ppl see things like "medication abortion pills can only be taken up to 10 weeks of pregnancy" they often think something medically dangerous will definitely happen to them, which is not medically accurate & that they have no other options.

2/ Mife is fda approved up to 10 weeks but robust data has shown that mife plus miso or miso alone are medically safe & effective to take even after 12 weeks of pregnancy. We use plenty of meds "off-label" safely. The WHO has guidelines & references on this.

1/ I would like to clear up some misinformation that I keep seeing re: medication abortion pills mifepristone & misoprostol. I keep seeing it reported that these pills can only be taken up to 10 weeks of pregnancy, but there’s more to the story.

Today I didn’t work through lunch & took a proper lunch break. I went for a walk, ate an actual meal & meditated. Great start for a Monday. We must continue to take care of ourselves cause who else will?! Rest rest rest.

Shout out to all the abortion care providers out there! Physicians, nurses, midwives, counselors, social workers, doulas, medical assistants, front desk staff, etc. Between covid, continued restrictions & white supremacy, this work is EXHAUSTING. Thank you!.

Does anyone know any insurance executives? What do they say about these kind of things & the million other horrific examples of how insurance is the worse? I would really like to talk to someone’s manager!.

A child in America is dying. Child needs meds at end of life for pain. Insurance refuses to fill it w/o prior authorization. Team member pays for med bc American healthcare is broken beyond belief that insurance denies a $12.99 medication to a dying child in America in 2022.

3/3 Rich, white cisgender women aren’t the only ones that should have access to help & care when building families. If you think otherwise, that’s white supremacy in action. We need to do better. And if anyone in NYC knows REI that takes Medicaid pls msg me.

2/3 I don’t have the answers & or a specific call to action at the moment, but it’s something that’s been on my mind a lot as I’ve done infertility discussions & work ups for my patients then hit a huge brick wall with access to care.
