Protecting our republic—and the opportunities and security that it provides—is a sacred obligation, one that we all share, together. It has been an honor and privilege to serve you. I do believe that the best is yet to come.

I believe in the promise of America because I have seen the promise of America. We can do anything if we honor our common values and treat every person with dignity and respect.

We can continue to uphold the promise of America and build that more perfect union. As President Kennedy said, “We are not here to curse the darkness, but to light the candle that can guide us through that darkness to a safe and sane future.”.

Our democracy makes all else possible. Democracy is not always easy, but it makes us free, keeps us safe, and is the foundation of all our prosperity. Our democracy will continue to be tested. But the American people are decent, honorable and faithful.

It has been one of the great honors of my life to serve as your 10th District Representative in Congress. I will be keeping America’s newly elected leaders in my prayers as they fight for the safety of our communities and the restoration of the American Dream.

Social Security is a sacred promise that we must fulfill.

Housing is simply too expensive for too many Floridians. I fought hard to lower middle class taxes and increase funding for affordable housing in the federal budget. I will never stop championing this basic human right.

America is a great nation and we never have to settle for those who lie, steal, and cheat, or those poor timid souls who lack the courage to hold them accountable. I am grateful for the members of the committee who put patriotism before politics.

Everyone counts and everyone is accountable, up to and including the President of the United States. The January 6th attacks were provoked by the former President. There is no doubt about this. We watched the tragedy of the day unfold right before our very eyes.

A safe community should be the right of every American. I introduced the VICTIM Act to help solve unsolved murders and shootings and get violent criminals off the streets. The Senate should pass it.

Happy #BillOfRightsDay. Our most basic constitutional rights are the foundation of our safety and our prosperity. We must never take our freedoms for granted.

When jobs are kept in America, America prospers. I am proud to have helped lead legislation to keep good jobs right here in America.

10 years since #Newtown. The #SandyHook shooting took 27 lives, including 20 children. Today we remember them. Today we recommit to honor their memory by pushing for commonsense gun laws.

Here in the greatest country on Earth, we must ensure that Florida families can weather any storm and not have to worry about going homeless for something beyond their control.

Affordable housing, clean drinking water, and community safety are rights that every American deserves.

All officer training programs for @DHSgov should receive accreditation to ensure a high standard of excellence. I introduced legislation to ensure this.

Championing this cause has been an honor. Florida ranks second in the nation in Alzheimer’s cases, with over half a million. I promise you, that I will continue to fight for this cause.
