My thoughts on the Brown University Shooting:

Abortion restrictions are sex-based discrimination, and it is past time that our legislature update our laws to give ALL persons within our Commonwealth the right to control their bodies.

A women's right to choose is paramount to her self-determination, human rights, and bodily autonomy. For women in the US, your zip code determines if you have access to health care or are a second-class citizen.

In these unprecedented times silence is not an option. I join my colleagues in standing firm against threats of political violence. This is unacceptable from any one person or political party. The checks and balances established in our constitution must be protected.

Moving forward, I will continue to advocate for a more responsible budget timeline. This budget focuses on working families, invests in schools, reflects responsible governance, and balances fiscal discipline with compassion.

We now have a state budget. Today, I voted YES on balanced, bipartisan budget that creates jobs, invests in education, protects seniors, and does not raise taxes. It never should have taken this long. Our schools, communities, and nonprofits suffered with this delay.

My abortion bill, H.B. 2005, passed out of the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday. This bill would remove the 24-hour waiting period and additional counseling requirements for abortion care. My bill does NOT eliminate informed consent.

✅H.B. 1966, would prohibit Pennsylvania courts from cooperating with out-of-state civil and criminal cases involving reproductive healthcare services

✅H.B. 1643, would prohibit PA courts form enforcing other states' judgements in cases involving reproductive healthcare services ✅H.B. 1957, proposes an amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution, providing for personal reproductive liberty

✅H.B. 1641, instructs insurance companies to not take adverse action against healthcare providers who offer reproductive services to out-of-state-residents

✅H.B. 1640, provides protection of reproductive services records from disclosure in PA civil/criminal actions and investigations

Today the House Judiciary Committee passed 7 abortion protection bills. Only you and your chosen health care professional can make the decision that's right for you, your health care, and your life. There is no place for the General Assembly in an ER or Doctor's office.

I spoke on the House floor today as my Resolution celebrating Taiwan’s National Day passed with strong bipartisan support. It’s more important than ever that we maintain the economic, educational, and cultural ties between Pennsylvania and Taiwan.

This week, I voted YES on all 4 common sense gun bills on the House floor. Unfortunately, only one bill (HB 1593) passed the House. I am extremely disappointed that all of the bills did not pass. We need to do more to protect our law enforcement officers and community.
