When Republicans and Democrats agree, you know Big Tech must do better. Maybe it’s time they cared about kids too.
I'm constantly hearing from parents worried about what their kids are exposed to online. Kids’ safety has to come before Big Tech’s profits. I’m pushing for laws that hold these companies accountable and protect our kids.

Digital products must be designed responsibly for the public, especially kids. Without liability, accountability, and limits on big tech immunity, responsibility disappears as we see with today’s digital products. Unfortunately, our kids are paying the price. #productliability.
When a teenage boy told ChatGPT about his suicide plans, it said: “I won’t try to talk you out of your feelings.” His family is suing after ChatGPT actively discouraged him from seeking help, offered to help him write a suicide note and even advised him on his noose setup.

Last session, we passed the Kids Online Protection & Anti-Grooming Act (Act 236). Big Tech—including Roblox—tried to gut it. They failed but were able to get it delayed until next June. I look forward to working with @AGLizMurrill to strengthen the law and get it in place ASAP.
Strangers are communicating with our children inside their own bedrooms and their own homes. I’m calling on everyone to contribute to solutions to this problem.
