ICYMI: The Governor has called a special session after his late night veto of #SB3. I look forward to heading back to Austin next month to create a safe framework where we protect our children, help our veterans and neighbors with chronic pain, and regulate a booming industry.

Juneteenth commemorates the 159th anniversary of the final enforcement and awareness of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas and serves as a reminder of all the achievements realized through faith, resiliency, and progress.

Call on the Governor at to VETO SB-3, which will shut down small businesses across Texas and ignore more than 1,500 Texas Veterans who benefit from these products.

We're less than 5 days away from a final decision on SB 3, a bill that could shut down the hemp industry as we know it and re-criminalize federally legal hemp products. Gov. Abbott has until midnight on Sunday, June 22 to veto, sign, or simply let SB 3 become law.

Thursday night was our 89th Lege Wrap-up with the historic Latino organization, the Tejano Democrats. I had many great questions after reviewing the key legislation passed this session.

Yesterday was Women Veterans Day, and Team 148 was honored to attend the City’s Celebration and celebrate the fierce women who have served our nation. One of them is Mrs. Berta Strait Lee, a Cypress-raised veteran who answered the call and served our nation.

Thank you, VFW, for the incredible work you do to support the mental well-being of veterans.

It was an honor last night to present the 89th legislative wrap-up at the VFW hall in District 148. We primarily focused on bills that directly affect veterans, but we also covered the proposed upcoming Constitutional amendments and many of the other impactful bills.

Thank you for having me and being partners in keeping our community informed across multiple different offices and branches of government.

Continuing with our 89th Legislative wrap-up meetings in the District, last night, we enjoyed an evening with our friends from the Cy-Fair Area Democratic Club. We discussed School Finance, Immigration, and other impactful legislation from the 89th Legislative Session.
