Programs that could run out of funding on November 1: ❌ SNAP benefits for 40 million Americans. ❌ WIC for millions of low-income moms. ❌ Head Start funds for young kids. Senators passing the clean @HouseGOP bill to keep the government open will avoid these serious lapses.

Holding up government funding should not be a negotiation tactic. We can have policy debates and disagree respectfully on different issues, but we need to open the government first before we get to those debates.

If the government does not reopen by November 1, millions of Americans won't have access to SNAP benefits. @HouseGOP saw this cliff coming, and voted in September to keep critical programs like SNAP funded. I urge my Senate Democrat colleagues to join us and fund this program.
