This year’s balanced budget prior to and post veto is lower than last year’s budget and also has very healthy reserves. I will continue to advocate for our district’s priorities.

While I’m glad this funding survived, I’m disappointed that several local projects totaling $4,918,233—especially those helping seniors and youth workforce development—were vetoed. One of these projects will be able to pursue grant funding.

Grateful to share that $1.15 million in funding for District 95 that was approved in the budget in a bipartisan manner survived the Governor’s veto pen. This funding supports mental health services, mothers and caregivers, and safer communities.
