I had the opportunity to visit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Food insecurity affects nearly 11% of North Carolinians, including 1 in 6 children. I am grateful for the work of CENC Food Bank and its partners to provide for families struggling.

What an honor to receive the Ben F. Massey Jr. Public Service Award that recognizes individuals who have provided support for the field of Physical Therapy.   Many patients, after a stroke, heart attack or injury, need physical therapy. Honored to support them in their efforts.

The extreme rise in healthcare costs in this country has one primary driving force, and that is insurance company profit. Until Democrats understand this, and stop aiding and abetting insurance companies, we will never have premiums that are affordable.

November is National Epilepsy Awareness Month! Nearly 3.4 million Americans live with epilepsy, and about 1 in 26 people will develops epilepsy.   As Co-Chair of the Epilepsy Caucus, we must raise awareness of the prevalence and reduce stigma surrounding epilepsy.

My statement on voting to reopen the federal government and ending the democrat-forced shutdown:

Our collaboration is critical to the continued prosperity of North Carolina, and as a team, we can preserve our beautiful state for future generations to come.

In a time of robust ideological competition, this summit demonstrates how individuals from all walks of life can put politics aside to work together to make a difference. No one person can solve the challenges we face alone.

While the full restoration of the region will take years to occur, the ongoing recovery effort provided a valuable opportunity to examine how we can better prepare our communities for catastrophic weather systems, including managing intense and abrupt flooding.

Last year, Western North Carolina was tragically devastated by Hurricane Helene, a historic disaster that no one could have predicted when we planned to host this event. Our efforts and attention were immediately drawn to helping our mountain neighbors.

The purpose of the WATERS Summit is to do just that – to collaborate on dynamic solutions and foster legislative and agency plans to address the challenges we face over the next five, 25, and 100 years.

Protecting our cities, communities, and businesses, as well as the ecological beauty of our state, benefits all of North Carolina.

This week, in a continued effort to address waterway issues and flood risk mitigation across North Carolina, hundreds from across the state and country came together for my fourth annual nonpartisan Water Adaptations to Ensure Regional Success (WATERS) Summit.

On Veterans Day, we express gratitude for the sacrifices made by those who bravely served our country and their families.   NC-03 is home to 76,000+ veterans, and it is my honor to serve our veteran community and their families. I will never stop fighting on their behalf.

Until this nation fixes the overbearing power of Insurance Company profits, we will never have affordable healthcare. When Insurance Companies makes $Billions of profit and people cannot afford premiums, it is a structural flaw. It MUST be fixed. @POTUS @SecKennedy @DrOz

Happy 105th birthday an incredible hero, Mr. Houston Salter, the oldest living former member of the United States Coast Guard! Salter bravely defended our nation and I am grateful for his selfless service to America and Carteret County.

Flight cancellations and delays are hitting airports, SNAP benefits have been impacted, and over a million federal workers are still without pay. The American people are hurting because of the Democrat-forced government shutdown.   This nonsense needs to stop.
