Colorado House Represenative for HD-65
Weld County Colorado
Joined February 2025
I’m on the House floor as debate begins again on HB25-1309. Let me be clear: this bill is dangerous. It weakens parental rights, and pushes Colorado further down a path of radical government overreach. I’ve stood against HB1309 from the start—and I will be voting NO again today.

I pulled my name on 3rd reading because I could not in good conscience be a part of passing legislation in such a way that dims the bright light that is supposed to shine from under the gold dome.

My co-prime sponsor moved an amendment in committee without even letting me know what the amendment was until we were in committee. Stakeholders didn’t know either. This is not how good policy is made, and another legislator will not use me.

Former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt, once a teacher herself, convinced Congress to establish a day celebrating all that teachers contribute to this great country. Since 1980 that day has been May 7th. Go thank your favorite teacher today!

Started in 1963 by President John F. Kennedy, small business week is a recognition and celebration of the entrepreneurs that make a major contribution to the greatness of the United States every single day. This week, and every week, support your local small businesses.

Grateful to everyone who showed up to testify against HB1312 and stand strong for parental rights. The hearing rooms were full, the hallways were packed, and the grassroots made their voices heard loud and clear. Thank you for showing up, speaking out, and defending Colorado.

The State House is debating the Long Bill today—and I’m on the floor fighting to make sure we pass a budget that reflects responsible governance. That means cutting the fat, protecting essential services, and making sure your tax dollars are spent wisely—not wasted on bureaucracy

And just like that, with Rule 14, Majority Leader Duran limits debate on all bills today to 2HRS each! The Democrats do not want your voices represented today as they silence and limit our ability to fight for YOU! Bills: HB25-1312 https://t.co/ZqiJDcrg5y SB25-129

The Majority used Rule 14 Friday to limit debate to only 2 hours per bill—then Rule 16 today to silence it completely. Two extreme bills passed with no discussion, stripping away parental rights, public safety, and affordability. Coloradans deserve a voice.

Social Media Monitoring and Regulation bill, SB25-086 just passed the House... When it comes to attacking Coloradans use of social media, there isn't much difference between Democrats and Republicans! Thank you @repscottbottoms @bradleyforco @MBrooksHD45 @COrepKdeGraaf

Another week, another overreach. Democrats passed HB25-1277—a bill that forces gas stations and fuel retailers to slap government-scripted climate warning labels on everyday fuel. Coloradans are smart enough to make informed choices without the state treating them like children.

Thank you so much to all of the wonderful people from Wellington that came out to discuss various national, state, and local issues from my perspective under the Golden Dome.

Transparency is a cornerstone of good governance. This bill has a been a disaster every step of the way.
The bill started out at 9 pages, but is now 24 pages... explains @RepGarciaSander SB25-003 is confusing, and there has been NO TRANSPARENCY on what's happening! It's a disaster!

SB25-147 just passed committee! This bill will increase transparency and accountability in PERA's governance by implementing term limits for board members, designating the board as a local public body, and requiring regular financial disclosures.

Sadly, SB25-003 passed on 2nd reading. But we are not done yet – now moving on to the committee of the whole to continue fighting for your rights.

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow I will be doing three town halls. I hope you can find the time to come and discuss any issues you may have at a time and location convenient for you. I look forward to seeing you!

Yesterday, my office received a box of petitions from thousands of constituents-on top of thousands of emails and calls from across Colorado-opposing SB-003. Today, I'll stand against this unconstitutional gun grab on the House floor.
