I recently had the honor of meeting Army Colonel (Ret) and New Rochelle resident Richard Gulley, and presenting him with a long-overdue Bronze Star Medal for his actions in Afghanistan. Thank you for your service!

As we celebrate independence at home, a democratic Ukraine still suffers through increasing Russian attacks of drones and missiles. I urge President Trump to support independence, liberty and democracy and not let Ukraine go it alone in its fight against tyranny.

Nearly 250 years ago, our country was founded on a promise of liberty and justice for all. This Independence Day, we remember the sacrifices of those who fought for our continued freedoms as we work to protect and preserve that promise for all Americans.

I just voted NO, again, on Trump's Big Ugly Bill. This cruel budget will hurt those who can least afford it all to give tax cuts to the ultra-wealthy. My democratic colleagues and I will not stop fighting for a better, less expensive future for working and middle class Americans.

I'm back in DC to vote against Trump's Big Ugly Bill. This bill will take away healthcare from almost 1.1 million New Yorkers, cut food assistance from at least 317,000 New Yorkers and increase energy bills by $300/year. I'm voting no.

I voted NO on Trump's Big, Ugly Bill the first time and will vote against it this week too. The Senate version has deeper cuts to SNAP and Medicaid -- hurting people who can least afford these cuts. It will also increase the national debt by more than $3.3 trillion. All to give.

Plain-clothed, masked ICE agents have approached and detained individuals without clear ID- leaving them unable to verify who the agents are. I just cosponsored @RepDanGoldman and @RepEspaillat’s No Secret Police Act to ban face masks for law enforcement and bring transparency.

Trump has turned ICE into an authoritarian secret police force, allowing masked and plain-clothed agents to terrorize immigrant communities. @RepEspaillat and I introduced the No Secret Police Act to ban these face masks and bring accountability and transparency to civil

This week the Supreme Court stripped from South Carolina Medicaid patients their right to receive healthcare at Planned Parenthood. It won’t just stop at South Carolina. House Republicans are attempting to “defund” Planned Parenthood in their Big, Ugly bill. It is all.

This week I recognized local NAACP leaders in our community who are following the exceptional work and legacy of Dr. Hazel Dukes, who recently passed away. The NAACP has been a tireless advocate, fighting for reform and social progress, and a better today and tomorrow for their

Three years ago this week, the Supreme Court ripped away the right to reproductive freedom. Doctors have been forced to hesitate - even in emergencies. Women have suffered and in some horrible cases, died. Congress must codify the right to choose.

On June 26th in 2003, 2013, and 2015, the Supreme Court handed down landmark rulings that protect the rights of LGBTQI+ people. I am proud to work with the @EqualityCaucus to uphold the promise of these rulings and fight for full equality.

Today I voted against the Military Construction and VA funding bill that will privatize VA healthcare and make it harder for women and LGBTQI+ veterans to access care. Our veterans deserve better.

Iran must never obtain nuclear weapons or they will be a regular threat to our ally Israel and other countries in the region. We in Congress need answers about the decision to strike Iran and whether it really was the success the President deemed it to be.

Today marks 3 years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and stripped the right to make healthcare decisions from millions of women. I have signed on to the Women's Health Protection Act to ensure every woman can get the reproductive healthcare she needs.
