One look through the Chaitanya Bhagat confirms this never happened and nor is there any evidence for this. Just like your 33 million deities. https://t.co/Iz19XeBBnC
@RenaissanceSikh Guru Nanak danced in Harinama sankirtan with Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Your scripture glorifies the names of Hari and Govinda. Go and get an education.

Thus these Pothis have no relevance to the Sikh literacy tradition and are a money making scam utilized by some sections of the Bhallas.

The Bani of Bhagats have no formal identification in these Pothis. It's clubbed under either Kabir or Namdev. The Bani of the Gurus has also been wrongly misattributed.

There are other problems with the Pothis. Their exact number is unknown. Bhai Gurdas writes in his Vaars that until the end of his life Bhai Mohan was a fool even opposing Guru Arjan. Why would he write this if Mohan has already given his father's Bani to Guru Arjan?

Pothis is wrong. Secondly, Gurus started compiling Bani only after formally being invested with Gurgaddi and the names Jeth Chand, Ghulam, and Mast are in no way that of Guru Ramdas.

the SGGS. Professor Sahib Singh has also shown that in a majority of his verses Guru Ramdas answers Guru Amardas or elaborates upon his concepts meaning he had access to the third Guru's Bani after becoming the fourth Guru. Thus the myth of Baba Mohan taking away the third Guru's

mollified him. Professor Sahib Singh closely studied this tale and the Pothis. Several extant manuscripts of the SGGS have notes that mention Guru Arjan using Gurbani Pothis prepared by Guru Ramdas and Guru Amardas that were inherited by him upon becoming Guru in his formation of

So what is the history of the Pothis? Sarup Das Bhalla is the first to mention that Sansahar Ram, a grandson of Guru Amardas, compiled them verbatim and that he took them away from Guru Arjan out of spite. The fifth Guru then wrote Bani in praise of his father Bhai Mohan that

end up in a text that was supposedly taken away by the third Guru's sons just because he, Guru Ramdas, was made the fourth Guru? No scholar who supports the Pothis has ever managed to explain this glaring contradiction.

Returning to Guru Ramdas's alleged signature, it transpires randomly between a verse written in Raag Ramkali showing it has been randomly inserted. Secondly, why would Guru Ramdas put his own signature in a text made by the third Guru when he was not yet Guru? How did his sign

The question becomes that if these Pothis were indeed compiled by the third Guru then why the omission of a significant portion of his own Bani? Why such an omission of Guru Nanak's Bani?

If the mythology is to be believed, then these Pothis were used by the fifth Guru because he had no access to the Gurbani of Guru Amardas and Guru Ramdas. But the internal evidence shows that a majority of Guru Nanak's and Guru Amardas's verses are missing.

Another myth is that Guru Ramdas used to write under the name Ghulam Sada Sewak or Mast before becoming Guru. Again, there is no evidence for this and the writings of Jeth Chand, Ghulam, and Mast come after the writings of the Gurus indicating they are later interpolations.

This myth was started by Bawa Prem Singh when he attempted to refute the Panch Khalsa Diwan's attack on Bhagat Bani. Descended from the Bhallas himself, Prem Singh published a brief study summarizing the Pothis and then refused to analyze them further.

Giani Gian Singh, Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha, Mohan Singh Diwana, and G.B. Singh all studied the Pothis. This particular Pothi (the Pinjore volume) during their time never had this signature. Secondly, no evidence exists of Guru Ramdas ever compiling this Pothi or using Jeth Chand.

Certain Sikh scholars and desk jockeys have argued that the Goindwal Pothis are authentic because they carry the signature of 'Jeth Chand' and that this was the earlier name of Guru Ramdas. Here's the thing, this signature was not there until 1944 when it was fabricated.

It’s dead simple, and deep down we all know it, but the thing is, we don’t wanna proper get and follow Guru Sahib’s teachings. I always say, a mum in shorts can’t be tellin’ her kids tales of Mai Bhago. Be the way you want your kids to turn out, yeah? #admire_sikhi_saroop

Museum has a contemporary palm leaf mentioning this incident. Here is the reality: just like their Krishna, Tak does not exist and nor does his paper. He is a figment of the Hindu imagination. Now the question becomes, what to do with the Sikh fuddus also pushing this myth?
