It’s a really extraordinary point by one of my predecssors.

Heather Maahs and @Conservative_BC should be expected to champion a fully-funded public education system, yet they support policies that jeopardize the very institution Maahs was elected to protect. They are showing a blatant disregard for the future of our students and schools.

The BC Conservatives’ education plan avoids any of the actual needs in #bced & instead distracts with harmful rhetoric targeting 2SLGBTQIA+ students, IBPOC communities & students with disabilities. And it clearly signals an attack on teachers, in a bargaining year no less.

As a trustee, Maahs is expected to advocate for fully funded public education, yet her support for policies that jeopardize this system. This raises questions about her commitment to her role and the well-being of the education system she should be championing.

This who we want in the legislature?

Chilliwack Teachers’ Association President calls for political candidates to prioritize evidence-based education policies. Concern raised over BC Conservatives’ harmful platform—our students deserve better! BC NDP’s efforts acknowledged, but more support is needed for schools.
