Woodland Trust Scotland launch reforestation of Gleann Shìldeag estate, Torridon, NW Highlands, where 500,000 mixed native trees will be planted across 346 hectares. Ben Shìldeag currently hosts a pine rainforest and a birch rainforest, across 100 ha.

Mulgrave Estate, North Yorks Moors, plans to plant 300,000 trees over 550 acres in one of the largest private woodland creation projects in the North East. Woodland currently makes up 16% of the estate’s 15,000 acres .

Scottish Water is creating a new 62 acre woodland in Fife, Scotland, on former grazing land, planting 48,000 mixed native broadleaf trees to recreate natural habitat.

4 Tiny Forests to be created across Wrexham by Wrexham Council with @woodsworkcic . The project is funded by the Coetiroedd Bach: Tiny Forests in Wales scheme. Work has started on the first site at Ysgol Bro Alun with the other three planting in autumn.

The first of 300,000 trees have been planted on Marsden Moor, South Pennines, W. Yorkshire to reduce flooding. 865 acres of woodland will be created in the next 5 years on National Trust and Yorkshire Water Land in the Landscapes for Water Programme.

70,000 acorns were collected from heritage oaks across Yorkshire by volunteers with 50,000 now growing at Leeds City Council's Arium tree nursery. The saplings will used by the @whiteroseforest project aiming to plant 7 million trees by 2025 across Yorks.

Study by @Treeconomics estimates the value of West Midland's 5 million trees at £70 billion . The trees play a vital role, annually storing 57,000 tonnes of carbon, removing 200,000 tonnes of airborne pollutants and absorbing 1.5 million m3 of rainwater.

Ribble Rivers Trust is to plant 500,000 trees in Lancashire, but has relied on external growers and imported seeds. The Trust is establishing community tree nurseries to become self-sustaining and use seeds from local ancient woodlands as the foundation.

After 2 year campaign, residents of Birkby, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire are pleased with Forestry Commission order that 473 trees must be replanted before June 2025 and maintained for 10 years, following unauthorised tree clearance on private land

A community group, Friends of Broughtonknowe, formed by a small group of nature loving dog walkers, are set to buy a 140 acre forest in the Scottish Borders for £875,000 . The group has been granted money from the Scottish Land Fund for the buyout .
