I just wanted to share how much passion was put into this collaboration and how much justice they did to a beloved game in many people’s hearts. And through this thread, I hope yall managed to appreciate the trailers a bit more and be as hyped as I am for this story <3 [end].

Ezio’s banner name is called A Prophet Guided by Time. In the story, Ezio is called The Prophet and is indeed used by Minerva in order to communicate a message which was guided by time through the use of the Animus. Cool banner name. [45/46]

After beating Borgia, Ezio enters the Vatican vault with two Pieces of Eden and meets an Isu named Minerva, a part of an ancient extinct race before humans who begins talking and communicating not with Ezio but with Desmond, who is watching through the Animus. [44/46]

Ezio beats the Pope in a fistfight (I am not kidding) and strangles him. However, he decides to spare his life, deciding his path for revenge is over. This is captured in one of the scenes from his character trailer, line for line. [43/46]

The final boss fight of AC2 is against Rodrigo Borgia, AKA Pope Alexander VI. Here he fights Ezio in the Sistine Chapel using his own Piece of Eden: the papal staff. In the Mane’s Bulletin even for this patch, we can see a silhouette that I believe is his. [42/46]

This last section of references contain spoilers for the final hours of AC2. Once again I heavily recommend you play the game yourself if you have the time (it’s a good game) or at the very least go watch someone who could explain it better than me. Assassino Cappucino :3 [41/46].

Oh and of course, his I2 is called Leap of Faith. The Leap of Faith is one of the most iconic maneuvers in the AC series, where our character jumps off a high ledge, landing safely into a stack of hay. It is often a part of the initiation into the Assassin Brotherhood. [40/46]

In addition to the maxim, there exists three tenets to the Assassin’s Creed:."Stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent," "Hide in plain sight, be one with the crowd,” and "Never compromise the Brotherhood.".With this, Ezio’s Insight is called “The Three Tenets”. [39/46]

“We work in the dark to serve the light. We are Assassins.”.This is a quote from Machiavelli (the in game character). It succinctly describes the work of the Assassins. These lines are quoted in Ezio’s incantation names and in his character introduction card and short. [38/46]

“Requiescat in Pace”.In almost every time Ezio commits an assassination, he says this line at the very end of it. A way to respect the life of the one he has killed. Rest in Peace. [37/46]

“I do not remember making that decision. This life, it chose me.”.This line does not come from AC2, but AC: Revelations, the third game in the Ezio trilogy (yes he has three games). Nonetheless, it is an iconic quote of his as he reflects on his life and his actions. [36/46]

“Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.”.This is the maxim of the Assassin’s Creed. Ezio repeats this in his character introduction, albeit translated and the extended version of the maxim. [35/46]

Moving on to the next section of this thread, Assassin’s Creed 2 contains many quotable lines from Ezio and other Assassins that Reverse seemed to make a monopoly out of mentioning in the many trailers. Here’s a list of some of them that I caught. [34/46].

Finally, a mechanic we don’t see in his kit but was in AC2 is Eagle Vision, a way to highlight important spots and characters. We do not have it as a mechanic in game Reverse but it is shown in Ezio’s character trailer, highlighting the self as blue and enemies as red. [33/46]

Next, Ezio’s I2 is an actual armor you can find in game. By finishing six Assassin’s Tombs (a set of difficult parkour and combat gauntlets), you are able to gain the Armor of Altaïr, which is objectively the best armor set in the entire game. [32/46]

Ezio’s mechanic “Synchronization” is also a mechanic in AC2. Synchronization is referred to as how much Desmond adheres to what Ezio actually did in the past. Desynchronizing with Ezio leads to a game over. It’s a far stretch from Reverse but it’s a nice callback. [31/46]
