Infinite music production videos telling you how to do it... you follow their advice, EQ, compression, multiples of tracks and busses, mixes and master mixes. Then you listen back to YOUR song (not theirs) and it sounds like shit. Trust your own ears dude... not theirs. π

It is NOT easier now with digital... it's infinitely more difficult. In the old days you just had a 4-track tape recorder, you pressed record and played. Now you have an infinite number of recording possibilities to help you get lost in music production, completely.

I been working on a song spending hours and hours just on the drum track alone. It reminds me of why my marriage failed all those years ago. Now I'm retired I have the time but it takes for ever and a day. On that day you walk away, go hold someone's hand... live and be ordinary.

I remember watching this in 1992 when it was broadcast on the BBC, I taped it on my VHS (video recorder) and watched in many, many times. Long live rock 'n roll. π€ https://t.co/d984GbHX71

Why though? Because for recording... a full blown guitar amp/speaker setup would wipe out everything else. https://t.co/MeC5kYWuj5

Plus the fact that if the government ever shut down in the UK... the Brits would go ballistic. Mass unrest would lead to a vote of no confidence in the government resulting in a General election for a replacement. Probably.

The UKβs distinct appropriation rules, allowing for advances on funding, provide a safety net against shutdowns. These factors collectively explain why government shutdowns, a recurring challenge in the US political landscape, have never occurred in the UK.

Some Members of Parliament proposed an amendment to βstarve the government of cashβ and create a βDonald Trump-style shutdownβ in the event of a no-deal Brexit. The Fixed-Term Parliaments Act was repealed in 2022, making it virtually impossible for a government shutdown to occur.

Until the passage of the Fixed-Term Parliaments Act in 2011, government shutdowns in the UK were impossible due to parliamentary convention. The act abolished these conventions, but it did not lead to a government shutdown.

In the UK, the executive branch, comprising the party or coalition in power, holds the sole authority to propose spending plans. Parliament has an oversight and approval role but limited influence over the budgetary timeline or the amendment of spending plans.

The UK has never experienced a government shutdown because it operates under a parliamentary system, where the executive branch is dependent on the support of the legislature to remain in power... if a government cannot command a majority in Parliament, it would be dismissed.

Remember they are NOT being rewarded for failure. They are being given an incentive to achieve. And when they fail to achieve what they said..? They get an even bigger incentive.
