Something I miss from the pre-Fanatics era is that you used to be able to walk into the Red Sox team store and they had a wall of shirseys for everyone including the bench guys, manager and coaches. It was absurd in the best way.

The #RedSox have added fourteen non-roster invitees to the team’s 2026 Spring Training roster:

Masataka Yoshida saw Alex Bregman sign with the Cubs and said screw it, I’ll just become Barry Bonds.

The reluctance to give no-trade clauses seems strange. Just give it to the player and worry about it later if necessary. It’s not like a player wouldn’t waive it to get in a better situation. The Sox have had two players waive no-trade clauses to come to Boston this offseason.

Get hopes up, win more than expected, don’t commit 100% at the deadline, lose games, hear the same off-season rhetoric, get hopes up again, fall short signing critical players, get pissed, start season, get hopes up, etc etc etc. This is our new normal, #redsoxnation.
