Wonderful final service today at St Mary’s, SW. Thank you to all that were there, for the gifts, cards and affirmation. I have so enjoyed being Team Rector and Area Dean, and am going to be always grateful to those who I have known and worked with during these 11 happy years.

Great to return to St John’s, Grays North for the confirmation of 6 candidates from this parish, 1 from Great Chesterford, 3 from the home church, and 2 from All Saints, Belhus Park. Thanks to Clive, the vicar, and Bishop John.

A second referendum is the only way forward.
🚨🚨🚨 We have days before Boris Johnson tries to impose a destructive No Deal on an unwilling country. Let's make Oct 19th the biggest protest yet! Chip in to help fund student buses from unis & colleges across the UK: 🚍 https://t.co/04Ikxl5EBw 🚍 #PeoplesVote #LetUsBeHeard

Statesmanlike. Thank you, John Major
"Words such as saboteur, traitor, enemy, surrender, betrayal should have no place in our party... and nor for that matter in our wider society." Sir John Major criticises the language used by the present Conservative government - calling it "reckless and divisive behaviour".

Again worth a listen. @LeoVaradkar dispelling some or misapprehensions currently on offer.
Listening to @LeoVaradkar give @BorisJohnson a lesson in Brexit for Dummies is very instructive. He points out the obvious - whenever the UK leaves the EU it will not "get it done." That's when "it" will start, and we will be arguing about Brexit for years to come.

Love the time delay between Stokes celebration and crowd standing as one to salute a monumental innings.

As an honorary baptist - I was baptised by full immersion in St Peters, Hextable in my early twenties - it was particularly pleased to receive an affirming review of my book in the Baptist Times.

Impressively wise and original book on church leadership: its advice resonated closely with my experience as a minister
