Yesterday, I hiked to the top of Dome Mountain, the highest point in the Goldfield Mountains. The views from the top are beautiful!

The ammo box has a "summit register" in it where you can sign your name! Sometimes people leave other things inside as well like snacks, water, etc

Wow!! That's a "must do" hike! What's the ammo box for?

@dryfuss I refilled their bottles & recommended heading back down as they still had about a 1.5 hour climb to the summit.

@dryfuss That's insane! I'm always surprised to run into people without water even in the middle of the hot summer. I just ran into 2 college-age guys on a pretty difficult hike a couple weeks ago who had no water & only brought 2 regular bottles of water between both of them.

@TheStevenCyrus I live close to the Superstition Mountains so I hike out there all the time. My current favorite is up to Flat Iron and peak 5024 just above! I have a favorite boulder to sit on & enjoy lunch with a 360 degree view 😊 I really want to do the Superstition ridgeline trail!

@Isildur1011 Kinda like a geocache, but in plain sight! Some of the snacks I've seen have looked questionable at best after sitting in the heat, but I guess it's an "eat at your own risk" type thing haha 😂

@7luisluzarraga Everyone has different reasons they enjoy hiking. For me, it's fun to get out and explore places not so easily accessible. I love finding a cool place, animal, rock formation, etc and learning about it. It's also super nice to get a break from the phone :)

@dryfuss I usually carry 3 liters, especially since it's getting hot out! I also carry a few bottles of gatorade as well to either enjoy at the summit, in my car, or give to someone else! 😉
