Sadly this was my very last programme on BBC A Point of View as at the end of March the programme is being laid to rest after 17 years on the wireless. .
Rebecca Stott on migration and epic journeys, from travelling Canada Geese to Aristotle's life as a migrant, she contemplates the links between migration and human progress.

So sad. Such a terrific programme to have been part of. Such a terrific programme to listen to. A highlight of the week. Nothing else on radio like it… thanks to superb producer @AdeleJArmstrong.
BBC Radio 4 essay series A Point of View will come to an end in April "as part of the BBC's need to make savings", with staff moved to other roles. The BBC says "we have newly created space in the Radio 4 schedule for more detailed original non-fiction" which will run longer.
