Please read our @thetimes letter about what dying is typically like. It would be so easy to fear from the examples cited in the assisted dying debate that horrific death is the norm. It isn't - really. Between us we have >300 yrs of combined experience treating dying people.

Please prioritise resource and fund end of life care as it deserves first, to allow us to try to do what we can to make a difference to end of life , @RUHBath @DorothyHouseHC , whether dying at home or hospital, before debating a change the law 🙏.
We need to show we can do better at assisted living for those in need of care before deciding whether to legislate on ways to die.
