Predator Badlands reminds me of Halloween III: Season of the Witch in the way it tries to paint its own identity rather than rehashing the original one. Which is probably why I respect it a lot.

Ignore the fact that critics had to straight-up made mental gymnastics to not acknowledge some of these as horror but thrillers. Also, Psycho and Rosemary's Baby were hated by critics when they first released too.
