If the argument is that this is the best Penn State can do, I disagree, but okay I just know there’s been so much invested into the program recently, and that’s not so we can go 9-3 or 10-2 every year. That’s to win a national championship, and Franklin wasn’t getting you there

Truly can’t believe the Franklin era is over. He brought this program back to national relevance again. Gave us a lot of great memories. But it’s time to move on. I’ll always be thankful for what he did for Penn State, and I really wish he could’ve been the guy to get it done.

Pat Kraft is not messing around. He knows just how big this year was supposed to be for the program, and Franklin did not deliver in the slightest. Forget the buyout. Forget loyalty. It was very clear that a change needed to be made, and Kraft did not hesitate at all. Wow.

This clip is even more true today

I vividly remember being in the same room as Franklin when he made this speech in 2018. I was a freshman at the time. I truly believed that he would be the guy to get this program to the next level, and it kills me that the hope is entirely gone now.

I’m not even mad after that game. Not upset, either. It was the ultimate clarity. James Franklin cannot be the head coach of this football program any longer.

I know the buyout is huge. I know it would set this program back financially. But I truly don’t see how James Franklin can still have a job come Monday.
