Funnily enough, this was the exact same debate. Some seemed to struggle with the concept someone playing in the DM position can just simply be a playmaking profile. Not every DM is supposed to be Makalele.
No. Players have attributes, styles and personalities. Of course you can use the terminology in a short hand form in discussions etc, but the problem I’m saying is people who define players through that terminology. That’s the issue.

People need to stop talking about players as positions or thinking you need defined roles. What do you mean “spurs need a 6”? What? That’s not a real thing haha. It’s a made up concept that doesn’t actually mean anything. Good players figure it out. Good coaches empower.
