Project update. This is SH2-129, The Flying Bat/Squid Nebula. The S2/O3 Filter did NOT work as I hoped it would on this one. It WILL be useful on other objects. Looks like I'm just going to have to shoot the heck out of this thing. As you can see the Squid (blue nebulosity) is

Got another 4 hours of data on the Phantom of the Opera Nebula last night for a total of 117 X 5-minute subs. (9 hours 45 minutes) Here is the difference.

It's been a minute since I tried to do any planetary work. The Red Cat isn't really geared for it, but I figured, what the heck. This is the moon from last night between shooting real targets.

Another rework. This is M-13, The Hercules Globular Cluster. REALLY brought out the star colors. Very happy with it.

Wow, this is M-84-86-87 Mariakins Chain of galaxies. This is older data from last year. The starless version (first image) is nothing but galaxies!!! EVERYTHING in that image is a galaxy EXCEPT that blue dash. I THINK I caught an asteroid. The final is the second image.

I did a wider crop on my IC-63, Ghost of Cassiopia image. Brought out some of the fainter nebulosity as well.

Here is another comparison. This is IC-443, The Jellyfish Nebula. The first one is one of the first I tried in PixInsight. The second is STILL in PixInsight but I've learned a few new tricks. LOL

Two more reworks. These have been giving me a hard time, so as I learn more about PixInsight I'll keep coming back to these. First is the Cocoon Nebula. Second is the Wizard Nebula.

Ok, I KNOW I said not posting this until it's finished but I am waiting on a filter to finish it up. So here is what I have been working on. NOT the final image. 101 X 5-minute subs {8+ hours}. SH2-129 The flying Bat/Squid Nebula. There is only a slight indication of the Squid

I shot 60 X 5-minute (5 hours) subs on my primary project last night. This is the first time I'm shooting 5 minute subs with this setup. I FINALLY have the confidence to shoot these longer exposures. Not going to post it until it's done, though. Stay tuned.

From last night. This is the "Butterfly" region near the star Sadr in Cygnus. This is just sort of playing. No real target. IF it is clear tonight, I WILL be starting another serious imaging project. More to come on that, hopefully soon.

I KNEW there was WAY more data in this image than I was seeing. I finally figured out masking in PixInsight and found the data I was looking for. This is a before and after of the Iris Nebula.

Here's one from 2013. This is NGC-1975 The running Man Nebula. Again, I'm truly amazed at the power of PixInsight to bring this old data back to life.
