Explain it to me like I’m 5 years old. If insurance companies need to raise rates and cancel policies because of their bottom line, why do they buy so many commercials with high paid endorsements during NFL and NCAA football games? #txlege

Then the #txlege broke up Southwestern Bell and allowed phone competition, the incumbent was deregulated to compete in the new marketplace. Why do #txed any differently? If ISDs are gonna compete, then deregulate them and let them compete.

There are only 7 counties with median HOUSEHOLD income over $100,000. Without protections for private school tuition increases, any voucher program will be quickly obsolete even if it starts off at an adequate amount. Vouchers are welfare for the wealthy. #txed #txlege

On a related note. The top 5 counties have over 1,000 people per square mile. Over 200 Texas counties have less than 100 people per square mile. This is one reason charter schools are still primarily in urban/suburban areas. Its Economics 101.

Here's an interesting factoid. There are only 50 counties in Texas with more than 75,000 population. This is one reason why vouchers aren't a statewide issue. Small counties provide little opportunity for a business case for a competitive market. #txed #txlege

I don’t need unsolicited recommendations for people looking to get hired to help restore the account. I need @facebook to do their job. We are fine letting the account die.

If #txlege members like @brianeharrison complain about #txed test results but then not insist they be part of a voucher, they’re focusing on politics not protecting kids and parents. The double standard is as plain as their rhetoric.

In the spirit of “All politics is local” I hope #txed groups like @tasbnews @tasanet @OfficialATPE @TRTA @TexasAFT @texascta @txstatepta etc are engaging their thousands of members all over TX and not solely on meetings in the #txlege Capitol to educate members about vouchers.

Notice the silence from the #txlege members who complain about locally ELECTED #txed school boards asking the voters to pass a bond? Biggest one ever coming from APPOINTED board and crickets coming from the Capitol.

I'm having trouble watching a hearing about reliability for constituents. Oh the irony.
