Dublin City Council has installed wildlife sculptures made from the trunks of the felled trees on Leinster Road. While we would still prefer to have kept the trees, this is a welcome initiative. The Rathmines Initiative will engage with DCC on the promised replacement trees.

The Rathmines Initiative believes that our community is poorly served by DCC compared to other areas despite the huge income it generates for the Council from commercial rates. We have requested information on the amount of income generated versus budget allocated to the area.

The Rathmines Initiative are supporting Senator McDowell’s initiative concerning the renovation of the Concert Hall at Rathmines Townhall. This venue would serve a wide catchment area well served by public transport and bring back to life a notable building of historic value.

Tree surgeons working on taking out trees on Leinster Road. Man in charge tells us they are all to go, down to the main road. Unbelievable civic vandalism. How can this be stopped?

The earlier opening time is much appreciated but I wonder why they are not open longer / for the duration of the opening hours of the bring centre. Not everyone drives to the bring centre.
