UNHCR is being forced to scale back operations. We’re prioritizing life-saving aid, but the gap has driven operations to the brink, also jeopardizing efforts aimed at achieving self reliance. https://t.co/dErHNy5vB9

At Mae La 🇹🇭, I met a remarkable young refugee student, recipient of an RSSP scholarship by #SkillPath Australia. She reminds us of the talent in every displaced child and the generosity of resettlement countries that welcomed 116,000+ refugees from Thailand. #WithRefugees

Refugee protection is not a choice—it’s a shared responsibility. At Mae La 🇹🇭, I saw firsthand the talent and skills that refugees bring. When host countries and partners invest in their potential, it fosters self-reliance, strengthens communities, and benefits all. #WithRefugees

In Baoro, Central African Republic, I discussed with returnees both challenges and opportunities. Some 670,000, over 10 percent of the country's population, are still in exile. Their return requires security but also support for them to rebuild their lives.

Today in Renk, I met a Sudanese father, husband and lawyer. As always, conflict bleeds countries of their children, talents, professionals and future… He now hopes to build a better future for his family in South Sudan.

Today I met some of the 500 Sudanese refugees who arrive daily in the Chadian town of Adre. 61,000 have arrived in Chad since the beginning of the month. 223,000 since the beginning of the year. 700,000 since the start of the conflict. A tragedy which a ceasefire could stop.

Aid trucks making it into #Darfur from Chad is great news. We are working together with our partners on ensuring it reaches the most vulnerable who continue to face so much hardship due to the tragic conflict in #Sudan.
📣 Four #UNHCR trucks carrying essential relief items have just crossed from #Chad🇹🇩 into #Sudan🇸🇩. Vulnerable families, many displaced multiple times, will soon receive blankets, jerricans and kitchen sets to help them survive. Thank you to our donors for their generous support.

Last week in #Nigeria, we met with forcibly displaced communities eager to rebuild. Government leadership is crucial, and the private sector, alongside development partners, has a key role in finding sustainable solutions.
