I think the thing about that "Alabama, Arkansas" song that people don't seem to he saying is that it's obviously meant to be silly and wistful, not "cool" or "hip.".

Look, I hear a lot of "people don't talk like this anymore" takes, and they all confuse me. I literally have been around people who sound like this recently. I'm not trying to be mean, I just don't get it.
