A crusader, which I am, fights a lonely battle. I stay the course because I believe in what I’m fighting for: championing the downtrodden. I’ve been banned by Facebook for writing about a doctor who fleeced a poor patient with professional fee. I’ve been in this path before.

Sen. Imee has become a political pariah to both camps of the political fence. She is considered a persona non grata in her brother’s Alyansa party. Neither is she part of Duterte’s camp. Digong’s paramour Honeylet suspects the motive of her Senate probe, calling it “ek-ek.”

The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee under Sen. Koko Pimentel was intimidated by former president Digong during its maiden probe into the EJKs. The committee members, save for Sen. Risa Hontiveros, were gentle to Digong. The integrity of the Senate has been ruined.

The murder most foul— sorry, Shakespeare— of PCSO board secretary Wesley Barayuga was solved through an unconventional method: legislative inquiry. This is a big slap to our law enforcement agencies: PNP and NBI. Anyway, karma is a bitch for the perpetrators.

Remember that handsome NBI agent who had a staring episode with Alice Guo who obviously had a big crush on him? A short video of the couple went viral. Anyway, our OO7 agent is facing rape charges filed by a Vietnamese woman. Why? A looker like him didn’t have to do that.

Why didn’t his PMA classmates raise a howl and call for a probe into the murder of PCSO board secretary Wesley Barayuga four years ago? Then DILG Secretary Ed Ano kept mum even if Barayuga was his “mistah” in PMA Class 1983. Were they scared to voice out?

Why is former usec Lloyd Lao only charged with graft instead of plunder? Plunder is a non-bailable offense. Methinks the reason is that other people higher up in the totem pole might later be charged along with Lao. Imagine RD, BG, FD and HA in jail and cannot post bail!

Resource persons invited to a legislative probe are not required to take their oath, says VP and former education secretary Sara Duterte. This woman is really a spoiled brat. Even former presidents FVR and Noynoy took their oaths as resource persons.

What a convicted former customs employee rants about Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte and his brother-in-law Mans Carpio being involved in drug smuggling might be exaggerated, but the duo definitely were involved in smuggling of other items during their heyday. Digong knew that.

Allow me to play the devil’s advocate on the POGO issue. POGO has brought in millions of dollars into the country contrary to what those who oppose it say. At its height, there was a building boom and countless people were employed. Dollars were earned from foreign players.

DENR Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga keeps on going abroad purportedly on official business. We all know it’s just junket. Unless she spends her own money, she should stop her foreign trips. She’s absent from her job on extended periods.

Jeepneys will soon be phased out to make way for mini buses. About time. They’re eyesores on the road and their drivers are the most undisciplined in the whole world. Jeepney drivers think the country owes them a living.

According to Sen. Cynthia Villar, not one smuggler of agricultural products has gone to jail. Ma’am, please also include landgrabbers.

The Villar family of Las Pinas enriched themselves buying up farmlands at basement prices and building subdivisions and charging astronomical prices for houses. Don’t be surprised if years from now the country’s landscape is dotted with Villar houses with no farmlands.

Suspended prisons chief Gerard Bantag has now become the principal suspect in the assassination of radioman Percy Lapid as mastermind. If he really had the radio commentator killed he couldn’t have done it without orders from above. He’s much too stupid to do it on his own.

Qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum. This Latin statement made by a warrior Roman general more than a thousand years ago means, Let him who desires peace prepare for war. This should end the debate on whether ROTC should be restored in our schools.

For a P50-million bribe money, former Immigration deputy commissioners Al Argosino and retired police colonel Wally Sombero are now at the New Bilibid Prisons to serve a lifetime term for plunder. Such a waste! These people are at the prime of their lives.

Unless it’s nipped in the bud, a brewing war between the Furigay and Yumol clans will go on for generations, both sides killing innocent members. It’s a practice in Muslim Mindanao. It’s called “rido.” Both Furigay and Yumol have Muslim blood running in their veins.

When you give a stranger food, somebody else will do you a good turn someday. When you oppress a weaker person, somebody else bigger and stronger will do the same thing to you. That’s the law of karma. It’s also the Golden Rule: Do to your neighbor what you want him to do to you.

I gave up Isumbong mo kay Tulfo but am now serving people in another, better way: through networking. Before, I gave fish to the needy to tide them over for the day. Now, I and my partners in networking teach the needy how to fish so they can eat for life.
