Interesting to see so much sprint based football going on now But if you asked a track coach from anywhere they would’ve told you you don’t run wind sprints to get faster They probably would’ve had a very good idea how to keep/get your guys fast during the season

Before you go to cryotherapy, chiropractor, or anything of the sort PLEASE make sure you’ve taken care of the big 3: Sleep Nutrition Hydration As an athlete these will do so much more for you and cost you almost nothing

When it comes to programming keep it simple. Don’t be fooled by these internet coaches using a bunch of scientific jargon trying to sound better than you. You and your athlete will thank you

This is a LONG JUMPER ‼️ He looks better than most sprinters I see It’s only day 2 in blocks I can’t stress enough that you jumpers need to be sprinting and working those mechanics as much as you do runway stuff FYI the best jumpers in history were very fast

The block starts in this video are from just 1 day of being in blocks. Can’t imagine what they’ll look like in 4 months

Video of different starts we’ve worked on before getting into blocks I’m a strong believe to be good at blocks you must be good at starting from different positions They all progress to the next so when you get into blocks you understand them and are comfortable

6 weeks apart in testing and love the progress. First time around I’ve noticed some imbalances (steep drop from 1 rep to rep 2 + foot path) Decided to work the hips (strength, mobility) Second pic is the difference (better symmetry + and great peak velocity)

5’9” from 2steps off a ramp…😮‍💨 Only a freshman and never learned the hj in high school only jumping in meets (5’2” PR) Safe to say she’ll not be a 5’2” jumper much longer 😉

What a sprinter needs to be successful at the D1 level is a killer instinct. Doesn’t matter the weather Doesn’t matter what the seed times are Just pure hunger to beat your competition And confidence to know you can do it

Handoffs looking 🔥 for the first day ‼️ They are very hungry for that school record 😮‍💨 The art of the 4x1 is NOT losing speed in the exchange zones And no you don’t NEED your 4 fastest on it See team USA’s struggles over the years 😌

Full drill we did yesterday for introducing blocks I call them block jumps You can see a lot from this drill. I like this to show athletes you should push from both pedals, be able to drive your hips out the blocks, and understanding that you must literally jump Try it 😎

Some triple jump drills to end our practice Was as follows: 3 phases in sand (no video) 2 phases in sand 1 on land 1 phase in sand 2 on land Great for: coordination/timing/strength/stability/maintaining speed/fun If done wrong you sink! Try it out! 👊🏽

Here are my top sprinters doing alternating bounds Foot contacts are great, extension is great. I’m not looking for them to be perfect, but I want it done well and be able to cover distance on every bound This was 4x30m bounds Last few weeks have been teaching

Crazy how coaches are some of the worst paid people in athletics… unless you’re the big 3 🙃
