As many of you know we lost our daughter to a drug overdose last month. This has motivated me to get back into social work. Just got off the phone with an addictions councillor and at age 72 I am volunteering to work with grieving families. Wish me luck please.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Iβm booked up until the first of the year, but I would like to paint a picture of your daughter as a gift for you. This would be no charge. If youβd like this would you please write me a DM?

You donβt need luck, my dear. You are armed with the desire to save someoneβs child, partner or parent. God bless you for your spirit and ambition. You matter. Your daughter mattered. More lives will be saved.β€οΈ

Wishing you the best. You have a personal insight into grief and loss and it will help your clients. Please, don't push yourself too hard...things are still pretty raw for you.

I'm so sorry for all your family has lost. Its amazing how many people, a single person touches in their lives. There's hardly a more perfect way to honor her life than to help others who need it the most. You have a truly brave spirit.

What a lovely way to honor your daughter: guiding other families through the pain that youβve been through, to a place of healing.
Youβre an incredibly resilient & brave woman. The world needs more people like you. Good luck to you & God bless you!

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter. I am sure you would be able to help many...both addicts and family. In my family, there was alcohol abuse and no one ever asked I got how I was. May I offer one caution...take care of yourself. You have to be healthy to help others.
