newsflash . any horseplayers that’ve been getting their a$$es kicked wagering pari-mutually, are not about to start winning w/ fixed-odds … that’s a lie they’re being told and/or are foolish enough to believe.

it’s typical horse racing (run by dinosaurs) to be looking at fixed odds wagering in sports betting as-if that’s the future. when anyone who’s a longtime sports bettor will tell you, sports betting is moving away from books and towards the peer to peer model.

the pari-mutual system is one of the greatest systems ever, but it needs repair for sure . -the hard thing to do, is to fix and upgrade it. -the easy thing to do, would be to run away from it and over to fixed odds. … the easy way out, is never the way.

Fixed Odds is great for bookmakers and anyone in bed with bookmakers. terrible for the end customer / gambler. ask anyone who’s been in this game long enough (🙋♂️), the less control books have, the better. I’m glad to see it’s not catching on at Monmouth.
Monmouth Park had hoped fixed-odds wagering on horse racing would be further along in 2025 than it is, but track officials are still hopeful things will soon move forward. Read more: @BH_FAngst #Handicapping.

people keep referring to the Saratoga Belmont, as if it’s some major achievement. completely disregarding the fact that it’s run at 10 panels. Sovereignty needed 5 weeks to run another 10 panel race. it wasn’t THE 12 Panel Belmont Stakes.

sorry, but I really don’t care that Sovereignty won a fugazi edition of the Belmont, especially, off 5 weeks rest. it was another 10 panel race, not THE 12 panel Belmont Stakes . Sovereignty’s resume doesn’t stack up w/ Journalism’s at this point.

I keep seeing this narrative from Sovereignty stans about Journalism “ducking” the Travers . last I checked Journalism danced every dance; showed up for the Derby, Preakness, Belmont, Haskell. Sovereignty DUCKED the Preakness & Haskell.
