It’s that time of year again. Patients on Oxhey ward have been busy making some beautiful poppies for our display to mark Rememberance Day.

Patients on Oxhey have been getting crafty, marking Autumn, Diwali and Halloween. Today we enjoyed a game of Halloween bingo!

We had a lovely holiday reminiscence activity on Oxhey ward, sharing stories of where we had visited followed by all things ‘Summer’ music quiz and a nice ice lolly in the afternoon. 🌞🕶️🐚🍦

A big thank you to Marks and Spencer for loaning their clothes archive box to Oxhey ward. Patients, staff and relatives have enjoyed looking back at fashion from past decades, bringing back some memories.

Oxhey ward patients have been making fruit kebabs to mark Nutrition and Hydration week along with ice lollies yesterday afternoon. We encourage our patients to sit together to promote social interactions during meal times which improves nutrition and emotional well being.🍓🥝🍌

What a lovely week so far! From making Ramadan crafts, to St Patrick’s Day bingo and having tea and cake whilst singing along with the Watford Phoenix Choir. Big thanks to the choir, we enjoy your visits.☕️🍰🍀🌙⭐️

It’s been another busy week on Oxhey, making valentines trees, playing valentines bingo and today we decorated heart biscuits to enjoy with a cup of tea. Happy valentines ❤️❤️

A big thank you to children at two local schools that have been busy making Christmas cards for patients on Oxhey ward. We had so many that we have been able to distribute to other wards for patients to enjoy. Merry Christmas 🎄

Patient’s on Oxhey ward have done an amazing job in making these beautiful poppies for our display to remember all of those that have lost their lives in conflicts around the world.

We have been lucky enough to be loaned an interactive reminiscence box from The Royal Mint. Patients on Oxhey have been able to look at old coins and new coins with the Kings head. It has been interesting to listen about the history of coins and has sparked many conversations.

Final week of Olympic activities on Oxhey. Olympic’s who am I quiz, sports bingo, skittles and today balloon tennis. Lovely engagement from patients, laughter and smiles! Thanks @katielpardy for your help today 🎱🎈

Patients on Oxhey ward have been taking part in Olympic games activities. We have been painting the Olympic rings and had part 1 of mini Olympic Games, followed by ice lollies to cool everyone down. More to follow next week🏆🥇🥈🥉

It was Wimbledon Wednesday today on Oxhey ward. We have some patients that are tennis fans so they enjoyed a tennis quiz and a game of balloon tennis, followed by a treat of strawberries and cream in the afternoon 🎾🍓

Oxhey ward celebrated World Chocolate day (7.7.24). We talked about the history of chocolate, a chocolate quiz and of course finished with a Milky Way which everyone enjoyed. Did you know Chocolate was used as a form of currency? 🍫

It’s been a great week marking Dementia Action Week. Patients have been making a forget me not flower collage, cake decorating, singing at the tea party, playing bingo and doing a flower quiz. Thank you @KatieVovrosh for all your help and support, you are amazing!
