Really want to meet up IRL more with people I can have interesting conversations with. Want to talk about politics, economics, history, psychology, applied ethics, (some) literature, pop science. Where do I find these people? Very much miss this from my early 20s.

People I meet in Cambridge are interesting, but they tend to be interested in maths/physics/programming. Or they are interested in their very narrow science research topic, but not much more. I like these conversations, but I miss wider topics.

Meeting up with @IonaItalia reminded me of how much I've missed these types of conversations. Need to meet more people to have these sorts of conversations with.

Should say that my partner @Radegund does have very wide ranging interests - he's a genuine renaissance man! But again, I want to know lots of people with some non-STEM interests.!

@RachelBCam @IonaItalia In my experience, the best way is to meet people from the internet!

@RachelBCam @briandavidearp Highly recommend Astral Codex Ten or LessWrong meetups. Diverse groups but all committed to discussing everything. I’ve found it incredibly engaging.
